So, I drove to Salt Lake City yesterday. That was fun. The first stretch of road with nothing on it, with no towns, scared the hell out of me! I know people complain a lot about Colorado State Patrol, but I love them now. I would have been so relieved to see a cop or too for safety reasons on those roads. But it's probably good they weren't there since I was speeding more than I ever have in my life to get to the next towns. lol. So, I can see why people settled in Salt Lake, it's really pretty there. The mountains, the trees, the lake were beautiful. I like SLC radio too. I've never heard such conservative talk radio (I listen to Dr Laura here sometimes, but their shows were way more conservative than her, which I didn't know was possible), it was fascinating. The "I almost became a liberal" song was hilarious if you don't take it personally. I was shocked by how few grocery stores and shopping centers there are. I'm use to a stretch of neighborhood with a stretch of stores and restaurants next to more neighborhoods (in Denver). I like the grid system. I thought I'd get so lost, but once someone explained it too me, I didn't get very lost at all. (Thank you Ken!). Everyone talks about how big that city is and how big the tabernacle and library and everything is. Coming from Denver, I thought everything seemed really small. I guess it's big for a Mormon church and it is a pretty big city for the area. Maybe my expectations were too high. I'm not sure what there was to do downtown, I didn't get a chance to walk around much. I bet there were more things to do than what I saw. I mostly went around North Temple and South Temple, and around the U of U. My favorite part of SLC was around U of U. Those are such cute neighborhoods. The trees were huge and green, the yards were nicely taken care of. There were kids playing in the yards and groups of teenagers working on carpentry projects (I think they were preparing for something, that would be cool if that were an everyday things though). The traffic was another awesome thing! I've never been to a city with such courteous drivers. The speed limits were slow for a city, which was nice. I really wanted to see North and NW SLC, but I wanted to get home before it got too late. Does anybody know what it's like up there? I bet it's pretty closer to the lake. I met some cool people there. Ken was good guy. He helped me figure out how to get around town. He totally took care of me, was very considerate, and very helpful. I also met one really dramatic, rude girl. Then I met two really chill hippy guys. I wish I had met more girls there, since now I have an image in my mind of nice, hot guys and mean, bithcy girls in SLC. Although, I’m sure that’s not true all over town. The drive back was a little scary. I nearly got lost, but thankfully, somehow got back alright. It was pitch dark with no street lamps or towns for a long stretches. Overall, SLC’s interesting, and could be a cool place, especially if they open more things to do and places to work. It was a really fun day, I’m glad I went.

Sorry I didn't tell you, it was a pretty spur of the moment type thing. That would have been cool to meet your friends.
Do you know of fun things to do there (durring summers)? I found some semi-job possibilities there, but it's not very likely I'd move there for the summer, but there is a slim chance. I wish they had more cafes, libraries, and things to do. But maybe I just didn't travel in that part of town.

...I don't know Salt Lake, that's why you'd have to talk to my friends.

I've only been there like...4 times, 3 of them were just to the airport, the other was the Honor Choir trip which didn't allow me to see much...

Don't move there for the summer...you'd be farther away, I'm moving to Fort Collins dammit :P

I know, I'm so excited that you'll be in Fort Collins. I'd be sad not to see you guys. The biggest reason I'd move there is if I get a job there, but that's not looking too likely.

Too bad you couldn't move in with us in Fort Collins...I think we need another roommate, but it's a 6 month lease.
